Voguéo, the first river passenger line

In July 2008, the Ile-de-France Transport Syndicate introduced an experimental service along a loop to the east of the Paris reach. It goes by the name of Voguéo and serves the ports of call developed by the Port of Paris as part of a €3 million investment: Austerlitz, La Gare, Bercy, Ivry, Maisons-Alfort-Ecole-Vétérinaire…

Over 135,000 passengers have already used this new form of transport providing an alternative and original solution.

Run by the Batobus Company, the Voguéo line will be operated experimentally until the end of 2010. The circuit links Austerlitz Station to Maisons-Alfort/Ecole Vétérinaire. The service is run every day (except during flooding) using 4 shuttle boats with about 70 seats each.

Three of the existing landing stages (Port de la Gare for the BNF, Port de Bercy downstream linked to the Park by the Simone-de-Beauvoir footbridge and to the Port of Ivry at the foot of the Pont Nelson Mandela) have been renovated and adapted to offer passengers optimal access. Two new landing stages have been built: - at the foot of the Pont Charles-de-Gaulle near Austerlitz Station (to be replaced once the Docks en Seine works have been completed in Autumn 2008). - in Maisons-Alfort, at the foot of the Pont de Charenton.
