Trips on the water

The number of passengers transported in the Ile-de-France region in 2008 reached some 7.5 million, up 8.8% on the previous year.
The number of passenger boats remained stable (73 companies, 110 boats, representing a capacity of 31,000 places, to which should be added 26 moored boats on the quaysides for receptions, shows and eating out…).

If you prefer to sail alone, just with the family or a group on the Seine, the Marne, the Oise or the canals, there are a wide range of packages on offer from the passenger boat companies:

  • guided trips (1 hour)
  • trips with on-board catering (3 hours)
  • theme trips (half or full day)
  • educational trips (school groups, mainly)

Walks along the banks

The Autonomous Port of Paris is developing facilities (especially in urban areas) to give the public access to the banks and offer safe routes for visitors that are also compatible with the industrial activities in these areas.
The Autonomous Port of Paris has also signed the "Seine Walks Charter" to harmonise all the projects being developed around the river, and design and develop a common project for walks along the banks of the Seine.
