Despite a difficult economic environment and a decline in all modes of transport at the national level, Ports of Paris increased its traffic by posting an increase of 3.2% and 20 million tonnes, thanks largely to strong performance of the cereal and container traffic. The designation of the new terminal operator Bruyeres-sur-Oise (95) and its forthcoming launch will help increase the development of river transport of containers in Ile-de-France.
In 2009, the river traffic from Ports of Paris rose to 19 988 284 T up 3.2% compared to 2008.
